THE REASON FOR JESUS’ COMING

SCRIPTURE: JOHN 10:10

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
(KJV)

In 1 John 3:8, we are told clearly why Jesus came. It says, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.”(KJV)

What are the works of the devil? The first part of this verse reveals the works of the devil as sin. To sin means to err, break or violate God’s law. It also means doing things that are inconsistent with the will and plan of God. It includes wickedness, evil, destruction, sickness, pain, affliction, and even death, for the Bible says death is the result of sin (Romans 6:23).

Thanks be unto God! “Jesus came and abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. ”(2 Timothy 1:10, NKJV).

In Acts 10:38, the Bible says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (KJV)

The sickness, disease, pain, misery, and suffering in the world are all works of the devil. Christ Jesus destroyed all these works of the devil. Instead, Jesus by His coming brought healing, health, light, joy and peace. He brought us an abundant life.

Therefore, if any of the works of the devil tries to invade and manifest in your life, your body, your home, or in any area of your life, just remember that Jesus already got rid of them. What you have to do is maintain your faith in what He’s already done. Be strong and refuse to accommodate anything of Satan and of darkness in your life in general.

Consider Hebrews 2:14-15, “ Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (KJV)

This scripture has already been fulfilled. Hallelujah! Therefore, with authority, enforce the victory Jesus Christ purchased for you and enjoy your glorious abundant life in Him. Hallelujah!

You and I don’t need to suffer any of the works of the evil one. Our Lord Jesus took care of the evil one and all his evil works. Yours is to take a stand on what Jesus did, acknowledge the victory you have in Him and resist every attempt of the enemy to visit you with anything Jesus has already destroyed on your behalf.

Yours is a life of victory. That’s why Jesus came to minister. By His death, resurrection and ascension, He ushered you and I into this new life of victory.

CONFESSION
I have the same life that Jesus has, in its fullness. As He is, so am I in this world. I live above sickness, disease and poverty. I live a life of glory, victory, success and excellence. Nothing of the devil can stay in me, for I have recieved the glorious life that’s in Christ Jesus. I’m a partaker of the divine nature; I’ve overcome the world. Hallelujah!

FURTHER READING (NKJV)

ROMANS 5:9-12,17
[9]Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
[10]For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
[11]And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
[12]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.
[17]For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

EPHESIANS 1:3-9,11
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
[4]just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
[5]having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
[6]to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
[7]In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
[8]which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
[9]having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
[11]In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
