GET ALONE WITH GOD

SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 14:23 (NKJV)
”And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain to pray and when the evening was come, He was there alone.”
The modern day life has become quite complex these days that it can easily make your daily devotional, as a child of God, almost impossible. The pressures of making money, job pressures, marital and general life pressures keep many from their daily time with the Father. The result is that when you talk to many Christian’s, you will realize that having a daily devotion and prayer time is a real challenge.
Indeed, other things have made this busy modern day life much worse for some. Whilst technology has brought us some positives, it can also become a problem and hindrance to you. I am talking about mobile phones, television and the internet in particular. As good as these things may be, they have become a problem for many believers because already these believers didn’t have a regular daily time to fellowship with our Father.
The absence of this daily, regular personal time with God is one thing that will undermine your growing relationship with God and your general success, if you allow it. As a result, many children of God are more addicted to their mobile phones, television, friends and the internet rather than the Lord Jesus. These Christians do not understand the value and importance of being alone with God. Let me remind you.
Good things like phones, TV and the internet can be abused. Also, good things in the hands of an immature person can become a temptation and a problem. Many believers are, therefore, weak spiritually, emotionally, and mentally because they are too busy to make time to be with the Father daily. The strengthening that comes from your daily personal time with Him won’t happen if fellowship with the Father is not your priority.
A good number of us need an about turn. We need to make a change now. Let us learn from Jesus. He consciously took time away from the crowd to be alone with God. He knew the crowd needed him, but he needed God more to
anoint and help him to
minister to the crowd. That is the wisdom in spending time with him and being alone with him. This is how we get anointed and empowered to go out there and get results.
Break free from the busy modern day life that often distracts us from our personal time with God. Break free from any excessive attachment to mobile phones, internet, television and technology in general. May our love for God and our desire for intimacy with him be strengthened as we yield to the Holy Spirit. May we honestly and sincerely repent and make time daily to be with him so that our strength will be renewed in Jesus’ name. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you
PRAYER
Holy Father, thank you for stirring my heart once again to draw nearer to you in fellowship. I know that it is you that has begun a good work in me. Forgive me for neglecting to grow in my intimacy with you. Thank you for a renewed passion and love for you in my daily walk with you in Jesus’s ‘ name. Amen
