YOU ARE DESIGNED FOR IMPACT
SCRIPTURE: EPHESIANS 5:8 (AMPL)
”For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].”
A lot is expected of us as children of God. Why do I say so? This is because we represent Christ Jesus here on earth and our presence must impact this world we are in for good. For example, one of the things we must do is to make the salvation of unbelievers our priority because that’s exactly what Our Lord Jesus told us. Besides, until we received Christ Jesus, we were just like them. We were lost souls.
The Word of God describes you and I as “light in the Lord.” We are now light in the Lord. Basically, light is for shining, dispelling darkness and showing the way so others can follow our lead. We are told further that since we are light in the Lord, we should walk as children of light.
Our walk refers to our daily lifestyle. If we are to live as light in the Lord, then the least we can do is to impact the world of unbelievers, especially with the life and power of God at work in and through us. Listen to the Lord Jesus in Matthew 5, verse 16; ”Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” (AMPL)
Christ Jesus is the light of which you and I have received. We are now extensions of His light. You and I must demonstrate and minister Christ Jesus’s love and goodness to the world and people around us. This must be our lifestyle. Indeed, it is also our obligation. Of what purpose and benefit are we as light if we would not use it to show the way to live and be a blessing to others? The scriptures clearly state that as we impact others, they will see the Father at work in us and praise Him.
Your life can and must provoke praise to the Father because of the impact you are making on those you are ministering to. Settle it in your heart as a child of God. You are a child of light. You are designed to impact others, especially the world. That makes you a soulwinner and a very important vessel for the Lord to use. You must consciously let this light of yours shine on others. You can’t do anything less than impacting men and women in darkness who don’t know Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
Keep in mind that this light in you is powered by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit actively at work in you. This is supernatural equipment intended to help you make supernatural impact as you win souls, pray for the sick, do good to the needy and strengthen the weak among others. This is how you must live.
PRAYERI thank you, Father, for the great investment you have made in me. You have saved me through Christ Jesus. I have now become light. Thank you for grace to shine once, again and again, especially to impact the unsaved who are in darkness so they may come to know Christ Jesus. I am made for impact. I accept this responsibility in Jesus’s name, Amen.
