LIVE WITH AN AWARENESS OF YOUR SOURCE
SCRIPTURE: PHILLIPIANS 3:20 (TPT)
”But we are a colony of heaven on earth as we cling tightly to our life-giver, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
The Amplified version of the Bible renders today’s verse in a very interesting and insightful way: ”But we are citizens of the state (commonwealth, homeland) which is in heaven, and from it also we earnestly and patiently await [the coming of] the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [as] Savior”(AMPL)
Consider this amazing thought. You are a citizen of the state of heaven. Praise be to God! It is important that you embrace this identity and also acknowledge that heaven’s wealth and resources are accessible and available to you. This natural world is limited but heaven is unlimited in resources. What you are in the natural is not as important as who you are in the Spirit. Indeed, who you are also has a lot to do with whose you are and where you come from.
As a child of God, you must constantly remember that your spiritual identity and spiritual heritage are crucial to your living the victorious Christian life the Lord Jesus purchased for you. Day in and day out, your awareness and consciousness of this truth must grow and dominate your thinking, attitudes and action. Otherwise, you can easily be overcome by the opposing and negative forces in this natural world which dominate most people, including some Christians. Besides, your day to day life must clearly demonstrate and reflect who you really are, whose you are and where you come from.
What a declaration! You are a citizen of heaven! In the natural, you may reflect your parents, their ethnic backgrounds, your nation, etc but all that is natural. Spiritually, you came from heaven and from God. Therefore, you have God’s nature, traits, seal and ability. Indeed, you can produce the supernatural because that is the stuff you are made of. You are known beyond this natural world.
This works like the ambassador of a country. Though he or she functions in a foreign country, he or she draws his credentials, authority and resources from his home country. You have forces and resources available to you that are just mind-boggling. I John 4:4 also affirms that; ”You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
You are carrying the greater one inside you. Whatever situation you are facing now cannot match the strength you have within. That’s why you are called a victor, an overcomer, and ‘more than a conqueror.’ The greater one in you is a clear indication of who you are, whose you are and where you come from. Do well to live in this awareness constantly.
CONFESSION
I boldly declare my identity, my citizenship and my authority in Christ Jesus. My life in this world is the overcomer’s life. Though I function in this earth realm, the greater one within sustains me supernaturally. I am of God. Hallelujah!

[12]that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
[13]But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
[14]For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
[15]having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
[16]and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
[17]And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
[18]For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
[19]Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
