TOPIC : THE WORKINGS OF ETERNAL LIFE
SCRIPTURE: GALATIANS 6:15 (AMPL) “For neither is circumcision now of any importance, nor uncircumcision, but only a new creation [the result of a new birth and a new nature in Christ Jesus, the Messiah”
As a child of God, eternal life is already at work in you. It is the nature of the Father transmitted to you as a believer through Christ Jesus. John 5, verse 24 makes this clear for us: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” (NKJV)
This life of your Father is called “Zoe” or the *”God kind of life.” One of the first things “Zoe” does in a man is to change his nature. Zoe or eternal life changes your spirit and makes you a new creature. Therefore, all things become new in your inward human spirit.
As a new man or new creature in Christ Jesus, what you must do now is to allow your new man within to dominate your whole life. As a believer, when you allow your spirit to dominate your soul and body, especially through your decisions and lifestyle, you permit the life of God in you to dominate your whole life.
Most people then are able to see the effects of this life of God within you because the fruit of this “Zoe” or eternal life will be seen. Changes in a person’s habits, conduct, speech, and interaction with others will be seen. That is how criminals become law-abiding citizens, dishonest people become honest, drunkards turn a new leaf and mere church goers become zealous and productive believers.
With eternal life, there comes a new kind of love called ”agape.” It is God’s unconditional love which is imparted into your spirit. And when you allow this love to stir, influence and dominate you from within, it will destroy the cause of friction in relationships, in homes and also eliminate selfishness.
The natural man who doesn’t know God is selfish. However, once you get born again, “Zoe” comes in, “agape” is also activated and then selfishness is targeted and overcome as you learn to yield to the Spirit of God.
CONFESSION
I have got the life of God in me. This life is in my spirit and is stirring and empowering me from the inside out. I am a new creature. The life and nature of God has been imparted to my spirit. My soul and body are now servants of my spirit. My God is love. I yield myself to let His life and love dominate me. I am an overcomer. Christ Jesus is my Lord. I walk in continual victory.
