THE VIGILANCE THAT SUSTAINS VICTORY
REV. EKOW ESHUN.
SCRIPTURE : JAMES 5:16B (AMPL)
”The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its’ working).”
God has given you spiritual authority in Jesus’s name. Indeed, this is so because of the privilege you have as a son or daughter of your Father. Your spiritual authority, therefore, comes from your status as a child of God. This is your inheritance! As a child of God, the Father, you also have another right and privilege, i.e. the right and privilege of prayer. Prayer is a right and a privilege because if a person is not a child of God, he or she has no legal approach or vital access to our Father. He or she is in darkness, whereas our Father dwells in light.
Remember that light and darkness have no fellowship (2 Cor 6:14). Things only change for the unbeliever once they receive Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord, and then prayer becomes their right and privilege because he or she now has a Father. As a child of God, you have the right/privilege of prayer because you have a relationship with God. Prayer is your dialogue and part of your fellowship and communication with Him.
Prayer is a supernatural exercise and function. It is having audience with your Father who is all powerful. Because Jesus has given you delegated power (authority or right) to use His name, it puts your prayer in a different class. Hallelujah! Remember that at the name of Jesus, every knee bows and every tongue confesses and acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord. Consider Acts 4:12; ”Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
The name of Jesus reigns Supreme. That is one important reason your prayer can be very powerful. Today’s verse says: the continued, heartfelt or passionate prayer of the believer makes tremendous power available. Notice that It’s continued and it’s passionate prayer. This kind of prayer releases or unleashes supernatural power. Moreover, this power made available by the believer’s prayer is dynamic and life-changing in the way it works.
This is the potent and power of the believer’s prayer. This is supernatural power released through the continued, passionate prayers of the believer. It can nullify political decisions, it can shape nations, it can confound science and it usually beats common sense. Why? Because it is divine and supernatural. No wonder God often needs men and women of prayer to change things. Why? So He can demonstrate His power for our benefit. Will you be the one to step up into continuous, passionate prayer from today?
PRAYER
Thank you, Father, for the privilege and power of prayer. Thank you for the name of Jesus which guarantees us victory over all forces of evil and their devices. I yield myself to the stirrings of the Holy Spirit so that I can commit to continuous prayer and the release of great power to change all kinds of situations in Jesus’s name, Amen.

ACTS 4: 23-33
[23]And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
[24]So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
[25]who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?
[26]The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’
[27]“For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together
[28]to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.
[29]Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,
[30]by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
[31]And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
[32]Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
[33]And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them.”
