POSITION YOURSELF TO PROSPER
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 92:13 (NKJV)
”Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
Thanks be to our Father for bringing us into a new month. I want you to reflect on a few questions I have for you: How important is the house of God to you? How involved are you in the house of God? Do you understand the value of the local church? Are you a casual attender at church service? Or you are an ardent, loyal member of your local church? Or you just attend church service when you are really “cornered” with a problem?
It’s important to consider and answer these questions sincerely. Why? I will give you two reasons. Your general wellbeing and prosperity is linked to your commitment to your local church. Secondly, you are commanded by scripture not to forsake the gathering of believers for service. Hebrews 10, verse 25 makes these 2 reasons clear; ”Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is…”(KJV)
Remember this: It is one thing to be casually associated with a local church because of your occasional visits. It is another thing to be regularly and passionately involved in a local church and prosper as God has planned for you. How do we know this? This is the essence of today’s verse. You and I are required to be planted in the church or house of God. The Word of God has already prophesied about us in Isaiah 61:3; ”…that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” So as you see, you are declared to be the planting of the Lord! So act on it; yield to the Spirit and the Word and be planted and established by the Lord in his house.
One important word here is the word “planted.” This means that we consciously keep our “roots” deep in the business, activities and goals of the church. Like a normal plant draws nutrients from the roots to grow and bear fruit, you and I must be planted in God’s house so that we can draw from God’s grace, strength and our pastor to flourish and prosper. Those that be planted in the house of God shall flourish. Hallelujah! In order to flourish, we must first be planted in God’s house. We all want to prosper and flourish.
That’s why we must review our relationship with God and His house periodically in order to find out whether you are planted or you are not. There are those that want to be prospered by God but don’t want to be closely and passionately involved with the local church and pastors. This is deception. Why? Because you can’t choose one and leave the other.
Do your best to review your involvement in your local church. Don’t be an occasional or average member. Be a committed member. Remember that this is God’s Word too and your overall prosperity depends on this.
PRAYER
I thank you, Father, for your great plan for my life. In your wisdom, you ordained the local church for me as a family and the pastors as my shepherds. I depend on your grace to be fully involved in the local church, to grow, to serve you and to flourish as well in the name of my Lord Jesus, Amen.

ACTS 2:41-47
[41]Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
[42]And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
[43]Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
[44]Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,
[45]and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
[46]So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
[47]praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
