DIVINE HEALTH BELONGS TO YOU

SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 8: 16-17 (NKJV)

”When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

Have you taken time to read this verse in Isaiah 53:4 before? It says, ”Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.” But notice also how Matthew quoted it in today’s verse.

The word “himself” is very illuminating and revealing because it is very personal and intimate. Surely, he Himself took your diseases and your infirmities. It wasn’t an angel who did that. Aren’t you glad that your health and wholeness were so important to the Lord Jesus Christ? So He Himself bore every sickness and disease for you.

It will be good to take some time to meditate on the word “Himself.” Take some time to remember how Jesus suffered and died for you. This same Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses so you need not bear them. Jesus Himself did it because your health is very important to him.

Whatever condition the doctors have diagnosed you with, Jesus Himself took it upon His own body. Don’t just focus on believing His Word for your healing to manifest, focus even more on the person of the Lord Jesus Himself and his love for you. Focus on the One ”who Himself bore your sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.” (I Pet. 2:24)

Many times, when you commune with Him and simply spend time in His presence, the issues and circumstances you are dealing with will just melt away. You will then find that in His presence, there is peace that passes understanding. In that same presence is healing and wholeness. And when you look for your symptoms, you find them no more. Why? Because you are in the presence of the Great Physician and Healer.

I challenge you to meditate on Him, and to know and experience Him better and let His presence reshape and transform you from one level of glory to another.

CONFESSION
I acknowledge you, Lord Jesus, as my saviour and compassionate substitute. You deserve my praise for taking my sicknesses and diseases. I affirm my blessing of divine health, strength and vitality. You have become my strength and my song.

ISAIAH 53:1-5
[1]Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
[2]For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
[3]He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
[4]Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
[5]But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
