CULTIVATE CONSISTENCY FOR MORE PROGRESS

SCRIPTURE: LUKE 16:10 (AMPL)

”He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much.”

It is in the nature and plan of our Father to see us making progress. Sending Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour to die for us is more than enough proof. As disciples of Christ Jesus, we can look ahead with great expectations because “Christ in us is the hope of glory.”

Day after day, we are expected to grow and move towards the full manifestation of all that we have in Christ Jesus. It is therefore important for you and I to learn to be faithful and manage the relatively small things under our care now and trust God for the bigger things in the near future. This principle of faithfulness is called “CONSISTENCY.” Why do we need to be faithful or consistent?

If we are not faithful enough to manage the little things, we cannot attract the big things that have been prepared for us. This is really a growing process we must understand and embrace. This is just the way God operates and it is one important lesson about his dealings with us. IT IS A LAW or PRINCIPLE. The important lesson here is that we need to grow in the way we take care of things. The more we improve in the management of the “small” things, the more God will commit more or “bigger” things to us.

Back to our verse for today; Jesus was emphatic and clear about being faithful managers. The one who is faithful in the least is also faithful in much. In other words, the way to the bigger opportunities begins with the wise management of the smaller opportunities. That is why you cannot despise or look down on your small opportunities, small successes and even your financial resources which may seem small. Just be faithful with the little you have and be patient for the “much” which is coming.

Zechariah 4, verse 10 reminds us “not to despise the day of small beginnings.” Actually, this is one test we must pass as part of our growing process as Christians. It is this test of managing small or little things well. It is the test of being faithful managers over little. It is the test of consistency and predictability. Your God is more than willing to take you into something bigger, something better and something more glorious.

In the meantime, let us pass our test. Let us not look down on the small or little opportunities we may have. Let us celebrate the small things. Let us manage them wisely and faithfully. Our promotion day is about to manifest soon. Be encouraged and look up. You are dealing with a faithful God who doesn’t disappoint.

          PRAYER

Praise be to you, dear Father, for your wisdom and plans for me. I thank you for the way your plans are unfolding daily in my life for my continued progress in Christ Jesus. I recognise the need to be wise and faithful at every stage of my life and service to you. I know that your plans represent bigger opportunities and greater experiences for me in the days ahead. By faith, I receive them in Jesus’s name, Amen.
