WALK IN THE STRENGTH OF GOD’S PEACE
SCRIPTURE: JOHN 14:27 (NKJV)
”Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
The Lord Jesus Christ promised and provided His peace to you and I who are God’s children. His peace is not the worldly kind that is dependent on external factors and good times only. This peace we have in Christ Jesus is a supernatural blessing. It is a sense of calm, stability and security from within. As a child of God, it has been imparted into your spirit by the Spirit of God who dwells in us. Often, it is the stabilizing factor in your life when you encounter difficult and trying times in life.
Phillipians 4:7 reveals how this peace of God acts “like” a protective guard over your heart and mind when anxiety, worry and fear confront you. ”And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (NKJV)
In fact, this peace of God can manifest in your life strongly and make a continual difference, again and again, as you cultivate the Spirit-filled life. It is out of this Spirit-filled life that this fruit of the Spirit manifests.
Galatians 5:22 states: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, …” (NKJV)
As a disciple of Christ, you must make it a choice to yield to the Holy Spirit and depend on Him so that you can be Spirit-filled and be empowered to bear this fruit of divine character. This peace is supernatural. It’s powerful and life-changing. That’s why it can sustain your heart and mind even in troubled times.
One practical way to yield to the Spirit of God and get this benefit of experiencing the peace of God is by reading and memorising the WORD. Colossians 3, verse 16 says
”Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (NKJV)
The outflow of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs is the result of the Word dwelling richly within you. This also shows how the Holy Spirit manifests divine inspiration from the inside out, through His infilling. Being full of the Word therefore produces the peace of God. Psalm 119, verse 165 affirms this beautifully; ”Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” (NKJV)
Those who get full of God’s Word or Law will have direct access to great peace and stability of heart and mind. Hallelujah! Difficult times will not affect them negatively. Therefore, they will not stumble. What a great blessing to enjoy and rejoice in.
You can be confident of staying calm, stable and not stumble in trying times because of the peace of God working from within you in Jesus’ name. His grace is sufficient for you.
CONFESSION
I am born again and my spirit is filled with the Holy Spirit who produces peace within me. I let the Word of Christ dwell within me richly producing in me great peace which passes all understanding. I shall not be moved by the storms of life. My heart is fixed on the word and filled with the Spirit. Thank you Father of peace in Jesus’ name. Amen!

1 PETER 1:6-9
[6]In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
[7]that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
[8]whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
[9]receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
