HOW TO EXPERIENCE VICTORY OVER SATAN’S LIES
SCRIPTURE: JOHN 8:31-32 (TPT)
”Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release more freedom into your lives.”
The truth is embodied in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, thus personifying the truth as a person; for Jesus said; ”I am the truth.” (John 14:6). The truth also refers to God’s Word which has the power to change us and make us more Christlike as we apply it in our lives. Because the truth of God’s Word can change you from one level to another so that you look and act more like Christ Jesus, Satan will also constantly bombard you with lies, so that you don’t believe what God’s word of truth says.
Satan knows that once you believe God’s word, it is likely that you will go on to affirm or confess it with your mouth and ultimately become a doer of it in your daily walk. The truth of the Word empowers or enlightens you to enforce your freedom from sin, fear, sickness, death, poverty, etc.
Satan’s lies will often come to you in the form of thoughts and imaginations. These imaginations are usually negative mental pictures that are intended to fill you with satanic and negative things like doubt, sickness, fear, job failure, death and other negativities.
II Corinthians 10:5 is worth considering; ”casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”(NKJV). Notice that you have to deal with these arguments, thoughts and barriers that are against the knowledge of God. The high things here are mental barriers. The knowledge of God is the Word of God.
Remember also that these thoughts, arguments, and barriers exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, the truth or teaching that you read, hear and receive. Therefore, any knowledge, thoughts or teaching that is contrary or against the sound teaching of God’s Word is satanic. The key for you as a son of God is to know and grow in the understanding of God’s Word. Why? So that you can tell the difference between God’s Word and satanic thoughts, negative ideas and barriers.
That’s why in today’s verse, Jesus tells you to receive and embrace the truth, so that as the word of truth affects your thoughts, your speech and actions, you can experience real and more freedom in your life.
This freedom means that in your mind, your emotions, your physical body and your life in general, the Word of God is working in you, for you and producing results and testimonies for you. Embrace the truth; make it your habit. The Holy Spirit who dwells within you is your helper.
PRAYER
I thank you, Father, for the power of your Word in my life. I acknowledge how my thinking, my words and actions are changing for the better as I embrace your Word fully. I bless you for the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit as I overcome satanic lies, evil thoughts and barriers against my progress in Jesus’s name. I am a winner. Amen.
