BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR HOPE IN CHRIST
SCRIPTURE : EPHESIANS 2:12-13 (KJV)
”That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
It is important for any person who wants to see success of any kind to learn to be more future focused than to be conscious of the past. To be future focused is to be more forward-looking, positive and hopeful about the future. Apostle Paul put it this way in Phillipians 3:13; ”…but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead…” (KJV)
One good thing about the past is that through the experiences we have had, we learn lessons which help us prepare better for the future. The apostle Paul describes our past life as unbelievers with 3 notable words; these expressions will help you to value and appreciate what Christ Jesus has done for us, His church. In truth, every unbeliever fits into the description of these 3 words. The words are
- Aliens
- Strangers and
- Having no hope.
This is the kind of status and description we Christians had before we received Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Our verse goes on to say that, “in Christ Jesus we (believers) have been brought near by the blood of Christ Jesus.”
Praise be to the Lord for the hope we have in Christ Jesus! Hope is a positive expectation of the future. Hope is always of the future and enables you to shake off the memories and “baggage” of a difficult past. Hallelujah! As God has planned it, your future is more secure and better with Him, especially as you affirm it and live according to His plans.
Now that you are in Christ Jesus, it is the norm to expect to walk in better health. You should also expect to experience more of Him and His glory as you fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Thank God for new levels of prosperity, sucess and excellence. These are some of the things we should be expecting, meditating on more often and believe to see manifest.
This is the will of God for you. The good must give way to something better in every area of your life. You need to stay positive and expectant of something better daily. With this kind of mentality, you can wake up in the morning with renewed strength spiritually, mentally, emotionally and even physically to face each day. You are blessed. Look up and let hope strengthen you.
CONFESSION
I am destined for a better life and a closer walk with Christ Jesus as I walk in the better promises of the New Covenant . I am no more a stranger or alien to God’s economy. I have become a partaker of God’s divine nature and I look forward with great expectations in my walk with God. I am blessed, and I am confident because God has not given me the spirit of fear.

1 PETER 1:3-7
[3]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4]to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
[5]who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
[6]In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
[7]that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ…….”
